From experience I have found that blogs that do the best are those blogs that focus on one niche per blog website.
For example, if you are thinking of creating a blog website about cats, you do not want to include other niches such as Martial Arts equipment.
This will only confuse your readers and are visiting your blog to learn more about cats and not martial arts.
It is important to stay focused with your blog content and keep all your content relevant to your niche.
You could start off with a broader niche such as pets instead of just cats and include all the pets you enjoy writing about.
I mention cats because it is niche that is trending like crazy right now. Lol
Making a Living with a Blog Website
Now in order to make a living from your blog website, you will need to have very good knowledge of the niche you choose.
I would say that when you are starting out it is much better and easier to start with what you know and love.
If you love talking about it then you will more than likely have a lot of things that you can write about to get you started?
You will also need to learn and know what you need to do in order to get readers to your blog website.
- How to get started online
- How to write about your niche
- What you will be promoting to your readers
- How to drive traffic to your blog
- How to get high search engine rankings
Learning all of this will help greatly in building a successful blog marketing and creating a solid home business income from it.
Blog Marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
A big part of blog marketing is SEO, which is search engine optimisation and this consists of optimising your blog website so that the search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo will find your blog and rank it in their search engines as high as possible.
This will then lead to more readers visiting your blog. More website traffic, more reach on the internet.
Now if you feel that you don’t have time to learn how SEO works and how to apply it your blog website.
You may consider hiring someone to do all your SEO on your website. This could save you time.
I would like to mention at this point that whilst getting someone to carry out the SEO work on your blog website is a good idea but in the beginning I would suggest putting the time in to learn about how SEO works and how it will benefit your home based business.
This way you will know what to look for if and when you decide to outsource this to someone else.
Outsourcing Work on Your Blog
If you plan on making your blog into a sustainable successful home business you may have to consider outsourcing much of your work.
But in the beginning it is best to learn as much as possible so that you know what the best way to use outsourcing and what you can expect for developing and growing your blog.
Hiring Blogger or Writers for Your Blog
At some point in time you may consider hiring bloggers that can write your content for your blog.
Also you may want to have someone that will leave comments on others blogs that will lead back to your blog, such as in forums and social media groups.
You will need to have a plan on how you want to use hired bloggers and writers and it is a good idea to write all this down so that you can design a schedule for how often you want these duties carried out.
This will help your to be more organised and in control of what is going on and know what you need to do and when to do it, along with being able to prioritise.
Using a spread sheet will also help you to keep track of who is doing what and when they need to do it.
Blog Marketing and Home Business
Creating blog marketing for a home business is not much different from any other home business.
You will get out of it what you put into it, for example, if you only put in a couple of hours a week into your blog then you can’t expect to make a full time income with it.
If you had a full-time job and put in less than part-time hours it would not last very long.
Unfortunately human nature wants results and if you are creating a blog website to see results and only put in half the work then you will only get half the results and this is where a lot of blogs fail and or give up.
However, being consistent and working on your blog every change you get will pay off in the long run.
You will also discover that having your own home business and working for yourself is a great feeling.
Just remember that you should start small and work hard along with being consistent and persistent. That is all you need to become truly successful at blog marketing and start to build and income generating home based business of your dreams.
